Our materials

A child's clothes should withstand a lot, so we've chosen materials that allow them to play, climb, fall and get up again, over and over again. At the heart of Skiddis shell pants is an advanced three-layer fabric that combines durability, comfort and full weatherproofing.

Skiddis shell pants consist of a 3-layer functional fabric with taped seams: the 3-layer laminate has on the outside (layer 1) a flexible yet very durable fabric. This layer is impregnated with the latest generation of impregnating agents without harmful PFOS substances such as PFC and PTFE. Layer 3 (innermost, closest to the skin) is a soft and comfortable fabric layer that also helps to protect the membrane.

Between these two layers is the third and final layer (layer 2): the Sympatex® membrane. It is the membrane that makes the material completely waterproof and windproof while allowing the water vapor produced by the body during physical activity to pass through. This way, the body is always dry while the pants do not feel too hot as they breathe.
To make the shell pants last even longer, we have also chosen to reinforce the most exposed parts with a strong, very durable fabric.
