Care instructions
Skiddis shell pants require very little maintenance. To preserve their technical performance for as long as possible, we recommend following these simple guidelines:
Daily care: sponge over machine If the pants are dirty, there’s no need to wash them in the machine every time. A quick wipe with a damp sponge is often enough. If necessary, you can also give them a light rinse under the tap.
Machine washing (when necessary)
Use your regular detergent (neutral or eco-friendly), without any bleaching agents.
Important:never use fabric softener, as it clogs the pores of the technical membrane.
Wash with similar colors and do not overload your washing machine
Reactivating the water repellency After machine washing, we strongly recommend tumble drying the pants at a low temperature. The heat helps reactivate the water-repellent (DWR) treatment. If you do not have a dryer, using an iron (on a very low setting, without steam) will achieve the same effect.
After several washes, if water no longer beads on the fabric, you can re-apply a fluorocarbon-free water-repellent treatment (available as a spray or a wash-in product). Always follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully.
Water repellency
Waterproofing and breathability It is the membrane that guarantees the pants are waterproof, not the water-repellent treatment alone. However, keeping the garment clean and maintaining its water repellency allows the membrane to "breathe" better. This is essential for active children: it helps release body heat, preventing them from overheating or feeling damp inside the pants.
